Chael Sonnen and Jon Jones are two former UFC fighters who faced each other at UFC 159 in April 2013. The fight was for the UFC Light Heavyweight Title and took place at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.
During the build-up to the fight, Sonnen taunted Jones with his usual trash-talking style, but many people believed that he did not stand a chance against the champion, who was widely regarded as one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world.
In the fight, Jones quickly showed his dominance, using his superior striking and grappling skills to overpower Sonnen in the first round. However, in the second round, Sonnen managed to take Jones down and landed some significant strikes on him.
Unfortunately for Sonnen, Jones weathered the storm and regained his advantage, eventually forcing Sonnen to tap out to a standing guillotine choke in the first minute of the first round.
After the fight, both fighters showed respect for each other, with Jones praising Sonnen's toughness and Sonnen admitting that Jones was the better fighter.
Since then, both fighters have retired from active competition, with Sonnen focusing on his podcast and commentary work and Jones recently signing with the UFC's rival promotion, Bellator MMA.
